Jervois Station

Jervois Station is 350 km from Alice Springs and 460 to Boulia north east of Alice Springs obtained its name from the Jervois Ranges which run through the property. Situated between Harts Range and Tobermorey on the Plenty Highway

Jervois Station, 2750 sq. km and 350 kms north east of Alice Springs obtained its name from the Jervois Ranges which run through the property.

These ranges were explored by H. V. Barclay in 1878 who named them after a South Australian Governor, Sir William Jervois.

Jervois was only formed as a station in 1960, being one of the last stations to be taken up in the area. It was bought by the Morley family, who stocked and developed it until they sold it in 1977. Sold again in 1980.

AUD $10.00 to $20.00 - Secluded unpowered sites are located close to shared facilities and provide great camping sites whether using a Gemtree tent or your own. Please note rental of tents are at an extra cost.

16 Hour Generator Powered Sites
AUD $24.00 to $24.00 - The powered sites are scattered among the mulga and located close to the shared facilities, providing power for the on-site caravans and tents, or your own.

Please note rental of onsite caravans and tents are at an extra cost and portable generators are not permitted – allowing you to enjoy the night silence.

Pets are welcome at Gemtree
Please mention your pet when you book so we can place you accordingly. Please pick up after your pet and keep them on a leash in the park, but we do have 250 acres, so there is plenty of space to take them for a run!

Gemtree is the ideal destination for family fun. There are a number of ‘kid-friendly’ activities on offer at Gemtree, and our spacious park ensures your children can play freely without disturbing other guests.

August – Harts Range Races and Rodeo
Harts Range is just 75 kms further along the Plenty Highway from Gemtree. Every August long weekend the Harts Range Racecourse comes alive with a family sports gathering, race meeting, rodeo and ball. This year was the 60th Anniversary of the Harts Range Races which have long been a popular family event in Central Australia. Gemtree is currently the official sponsor of one of the horse races, ‘The Gemtree Stockman's Bracelet’. This year we provided a barbecue brunch for travellers looking for a break as they returned to Alice, on the Monday after the event. Accommodation bookings at Gemtree are essential at this time of year.
